Two worldviews struggle for control of America. One empowers and protects the individual; one surrenders power to the State. We the People must understand this battle of worldviews if liberty is to survive. Using the prism of healthcare, The Battle for America’s Soul explores these diametrically opposed political forces.

America’s Founding Fathers believed government derived its just power from the consent of the governed. Here we find hope, for here We the People find a Truth stronger than the political power of Washington.

• What does healthcare reform have to do with property rights, the Supreme Court, education, and foreign policy?

• What fuels the debilitating partisanship that consumes Washington?

Drawing on his knowledge of history, philosophy, healthcare, and current events, Dr. Gray connects the dots in this extensively researched and elegantly written tale of the American culture war.

Dr. C. L. Gray is a nationally recognized writer, speaker, and board certified physician who practices hospital-based medicine in western North Carolina. In 2006 he founded Physicians for Reform, a non-profit organization dedicated to fiscally responsible, patientcentered healthcare reform.

The Battle for America’s Soul resulted from a decade spent in research and analysis of the history and philosophy of medical ethics. This book not only presents findings that link America’s present cultural divide with the practice of Post-Hippocratic medicine, but it explains the roots of the broader culture war.
