Eight Secondary Reforms
The primary reforms outlined above fundamentally restructure the American healthcare system. They rid the system of massive inefficiencies and inject free-market forces so patients and physicians ask two questions: “How much does this cost?” and “Should we need to order this test?” By streamlining the system and making both patient and physician aware of cost, we can reduce the cost of healthcare without rationing care.
The secondary reforms outlined below are smaller, more targeted reforms. Each addresses a specific problem that breeds inefficiency and waste. When combined with the primary reforms outlined above, these reforms will work synergistically to further reduce cost while improving patient outcomes.
